Sustainable Development In Practice

Experts In Sustainable Development Practices Will Win Tomorrow
Economic Growth around the world has sacrificed the connect of less privileged people with the main stream of development. This is evident from critical numbers of Human Development Index from many Asian and African nations. With the growing understanding on the concern, a fundamental shift in policy making, handling growth and development and doing business is happening at national and international level. Changes like United Nations IPC changed to IPC- Inclusive Growth, organisations making low range mass products and benefiting more, developing sector producing more innovations which are sustainable are indicators of transition. Knowing these changes will create more work in space, there is going to be need of manpower who under the present concerns in holistic manner and work for government, private and public companies, development sector, national and international associations.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Sustainable Development Practices) has been developed to cater the high skilled and knowledge manpower for the development and social sector who serve in national and international agencies for policy and execution. Following and signing in LoI with The Earth Institute, Columbia University, while my Birla Institute has developed and launched the programme with some of the leading universities around the world. Understanding the programme, for the first time in Indian context, BIMTECH has received support from many corporate, NGO and other organisations and signed MOU with 15 organisations worldwide. They will provide opportunity for internship and generate employment for quality candidates.
The practical and theory intervention in the program demands that the new concept on ‘Sustainable Development Practices' draws attention from four important pillars i.e. Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Management. It is very much underlined intention to develop a race of leaders for sustainable development practices who are just not one of the specialist in a specific area understanding only either demand side or supply side or policy perspectives. The knowledge base of this program is towards an intellectual course of action which offers solution and helps interdisciplinary engagements instead of developing a source of intellectual thesis for real word problems. The graduates may be looked as experts who will address the technical issues of social development in practical solutions in exceptionable manner.
Naming few of the collaborations BIMTECH has for the programme are The Earth Institute, Columbia University, USA; George Mason University, USA; BEM France; University of Nebraska, USA; Dabur India, SEWA, Jaipur Rugs, SAIL, ILFS, LG, Development Alternatives etc. The partnership will work for academic and internship opportunities for students.
BIMTECH being ranked in top 10 private business schools of India invites best faculty from India and abroad and also provides opportunity to spend one trimester with partner at exempted tuition fees. A programme at good institution is life long experience which makes this programme high with a business school. It is expected that one needs to have more education in this area due to its very nature of being new area and programme.
